First Date

Our official first date. Met at the Arboretum and I showed her the over-wintering saw-whet owl in the weeping pine. From there we walked to the Thornhill Building for a concert by Carlyn Lloyd-Ford and Jon Warfel, flautist and pianist, respectively. What Kelly didn't know was that I'd gotten tickets from Kelly Bolger beforehand. I totally surprised her and I think I earned some major points! The concert was great, and afterward I bought and got signed the CD for her.

That Fateful Day

This is where it all began: the Caribou Coffee in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. After some emails and a short phone call we decided to meet here at 6 pm on this day. I was a few minutes early, she was a few minutes late. The song "Dear Valentine" by Guster was playing when she walked in. It was very cold outside. I had the vanilla latte, she had the Irish Breakfast Tea. She wore purple and was very pretty, I wore blue and was crazy handsome. We made a date for Sunday, and the rest, as they say, is history.

12 Years Later...

and I'm still very much in love with Kelly, who is now my wife. And we have a great son, Garion, who is totally NOT introverted like his...
